Summary: To evaluate infants and toddlers (0-36 months) in order to identify needs, develop, implement, and documen! t appropriate speech/language treatment program which achieves quantifiable results. Partners with families through the process of increasing the functional communication of their children. Staff members are expected to support all family members and caretakers while implementing a variety of methods including coaching, modeling and education regarding language development in their home and community settings. As representative of the Early Intervention program at Meeting Street staff members are expected to uphold all the agencies values - Respect, Compassion, Integrity, Inclusivity, and Excellence.This position requires RI SLP License, ASHA Certification, a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology, and pediatric experience.
Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.Duties: Provide formal and informal evaluations assessing functional capabilities of infants and toddlers on assigned caseload. To review the results with clients and families when i! ndicated.Develop and implement specific goals with measurable ! outcomes in the Individualized Family Service Plan in conjunction with the IFSP team.Maintain all Early Intervention documentation including EI state forms and written documentation of all evaluations, goals, speech/language treatment plans, progress rates, and communication with doctors and families, in accordance with agency formats in a professional manner and in compliance with established time frame.Participate actively, cooperatively as a member of a multidisciplinary team member to provide instruction and guidance to ensure the goals of the infant, toddler, and family as stated in the Individual Family Service Plan.Assess, aid in measurement and/or fabrication, and provide justification for adaptive equipment used to facilitate and enhance client's communication. Adaptive equipment to include in house as well as personally owned equipment.Provide consultation and home programs for the families/caregivers to facilitate goals as identified in the Individualized Family ! Service Plan.Able to work in individual/ group treatment setting.Physically able to perform duties of position.Able to get at child's level, climb stairs, deal with weather conditions, lifting, bending, stooping.Perform other duties as directed or required.Provide own transportation.Requirements : Participate in agency projects and committees as requested. Acts as a member of committees related to discipline and/or special skill area.Represent the agency as requested.CPR certification.Assist in the evacuation of infants, children and clients during fire drills or other emergencies.Able to drive and have own vehicle.Good/excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to deal with people effectively and cooperatively.Effective and cooperative approach in dealing with people.Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.Speech and Language Pathologists will perform their duties according to the State of Rhode Island's practi! ce act, ASHA guidelines and Rhode Island Department of Human Service Ea! rly Intervention Certification Standards.Use and disclose PHI only as authorized, as necessary to carry out job duties.Complete privacy and security training.Report suspected violations including those of a business associate.Licensure as a registered Speech/Language Pathologist in the State of RI.Certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).Familiar with standard equipment used in evaluation/treatment of pediatric.Education requirements for licensure by the State of Rhode Island.Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution.Pediatric experiences preferred.Participation in general Early Intervention recording in Comprehensive System of Personnel Development activities as needed to maintain certificate, license or registration in the relevant background disciplines; and specializing in work with young children birth to three years of age with disabilities along with their families; or in accordance with approp! riate semi-annual and annual appraisal and review of goals.
