Position Summary:
Alliance ENT and Hearing Center is a busy 3 physician, 4 audiologist practice with several office locations in Rhode Island. We are seeking an audiologist to join our team. Up to full time available. There is potential for flexible hours. However, we are looking for someone who is available to work at a minimum 8:30am to 5:00pm on Mondays. Our audiologists are respected by our physicians and enjoy all the practice benefits of working in a physicianÂ's clinical setting.
The audiologist is responsible for administering diagnostic tests that allow the differentiation between types of hearing and balance disorders for all populations. The audiologist interprets test results and makes clinical decisions. The audiologist counsels patients regarding test results and reviews options which best meet their hearing care needs. The audiologist performs hearing aid testing, selection, fitting, and programming.
PositionÂ's Essential Functions:
Administers diagnostic tests including: otoscopy, comprehensive audiologic evaluations, QuickSIN, tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, OAE, ABR, VNG, and VEMP. Administers pediatric testing including: VRA and conditioned play audiometry. Counsels patients regarding test results. Coordinates and interprets test results. Consults with and makes recommendations regarding hearing and balance disorders to physicians.
Provides amplification services including hearing aid assessment testing. Makes recommendation regarding hearing care options. Reviews products (primarily Widex and Oticon) available to improve hearing impairment. Sells appropriate hearing care products and warranties as deemed necessary to meet the needs of the patient. Provides hearing aid dispensing including: hearing aid selection, fitting, ear-mold acoustics, live speech mapping, and patient education. Performs hearing aid checks and cleaning.
Assesses patient candidacy for bone-anchored hearing devices (BAHA). Fits and programs the BAHA device.
Continue to develop professionally through continuing education.
Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of all patient and practice information and follows the Â"minimum necessary standardsÂ" according to HIPAA guidelines. This position requires, in the normal performance of job responsibilities, access to all portions of patientsÂ' protected health information.
Supervision of professional and technical personnel who provide support functions to the practice of audiology.
Other projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Masters degree in Audiology. Clinical doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) strongly preferred.
Licensure: Applicant should be licensed to practice Audiology in the state of Rhode Island.
Experience: 18 months experience in an outpatient clinical setting. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
