1. Head Start Lead Teacher- part day/part year located in the Upper East Bay area PM schedule.

Education Qualificati! ons (See Head Start Lead Teacher Job Description for all qualifications and outline of duties):

• Hold current RI Department of Education (DOE) teacher certification in ECE or
• MA or BA in ECE with 3 months supervised teaching experience in an ECE setting or
• MA or BA in a related field* and meet course work and experiential requirements defined in RI DOE Early Childhood teacher certification standards or
• Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis if the candidate will meet federal educational degree requirements by 2013.
• The Rhode Island quality rating and improvement system, Bright Stars defines related degree for early childhood education teachers as Human Development, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Education. Pediatric Nursing, Home Economics/Family & Consumer Science, Physical Education & Recreation and Child & Family Studies. RIDE certified classroom teacher candidate! s who have a related degree must meet the RI Early learning St! andards Teacher Qualifications as defined in those standards and includes a minimum of 24 credit hours in ECE coursework. Head Start teacher candidates who hold a related degree will have 18 credit hours of coursework in ECE related courses that include but are not limited to child development, early childhood education and curriculum, early childhood teaching and assessment, psychology, family development, health and physical development, mathematics, science, children’s literature, approaches to learning, social and emotional development, language development and communication, creativity, professionalism, differentiated teaching and learning.

2. Head Start Associate Teacher â€" full day/full year - (Currently located in the Lower East Bay area)

Education Qualifications (See Head Start Associate Teacher Job Description for all qualifications and outline of duties):

• Hold BA or AA in Early Childhood Education and 3 months minimum supe! rvised ECE teaching experience or
• BA or AA in a related field* and 1 year supervised teaching experience in an ECE setting or
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in Early Childhood and 3 months minimum supervised ECE teaching experience or
• Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• The Rhode Island quality rating and improvement system, Bright Stars defines related degree for early childhood education teachers as Human Development, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Education. Pediatric Nursing, Home Economics/Family & Consumer Science, Physical Education & Recreation and Child & Family Studies. Head Start associate teacher candidates who hold a related degree will have 12 credit hours of coursework in ECE related courses that include but are not limited to child development, early childhood education and curriculum, early childhood teaching and assessment, psychology, family devel! opment, health and physical development, mathematics, science, children! ’s literature, approaches to learning, social and emotional development, language development and communication, creativity, professionalism, differentiated teaching and learning.

3. Head Start Teacher Assistant/Float â€" part day/part year -25 hrs/wk (Currently located in the Lower East Bay area, may be assigned to an AM or PM schedule, individual preference will be considered.)

• BA or AA in ECE or a related field* or
• Child Development Associate (CDA) or
• Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Pediatric Nursing, Home Economics/Family & Consume! r Science, Physical Education & Recreation and Child & Family Studies. 4. Early Head Start Teacher Assistant/Float-full day/full year ( 2 Positions available in Lower East Bay)

• BA or AA in ECE or a related field* or
• Child Development Associate (CDA) with inf! ant/toddler endorsement within one year or
• Other combinations ! of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
