Harmony Hill School in Chepachet, RI is looking for a part-time LPN.

The LPN assists with the delivery of comprehensive health services within the scope of their practice and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LPN contributes to the smooth and orderly operation of the department in accordance with school policy and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide first-aid and nursing services to students, while promoting the highest level of well-being.
- Administer medication and treatments according to policy/procedure and record keeping requirements.
- Assists in providing comprehensive nursing care services including; treatment, recovery plan development, implementation of the plan of care and evaluation of the effectiveness of medical intervention.
- Update student records with information regarding nursing care, treatment plans and observations.
- Assist in obtaining/ documenting monthly vital signs for all youth every month.
- Assist with stock/order list of medical supplies and OTC meds. Assist in stocking meds carts. This includes first-aid kits, cups, med cups, OTC’s, medications, etc.
- Assist in the coordination and transport of medical, psychiatric, and sub-specialty appointments
- Assist in the maintenance of database and ensure proper recording/documentation of all activities.
- Assist with administrative support within the department to include ordering medication (per policy and procedure), department mailings, filing, stocking medication carts, etc.
- Assist the visiting Pediatrician and Psychiatrist with scheduling/flow of visits when requested by nurse coordinator.
- Liaison with staff in other departments, families, and outside agencies as appropriate.
- Maintain sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Complete additional duties, tasks, and/or special projects as directed by nurse coordinator.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school. Current and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Rhode Island.
- Two years of nursing experience, preferably with a special needs/psychiatric population.
- Valid CPR and first aid certification required.
- Basic computer skills (including word processing, internet, and database) preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
