The Role:

An exciting opportunity for an experienced farm hand has become available on a progressive family-owned mixed enterprise. To be successful in this role you must be a team player and be willing to help in all facets if required to do so. Ideally, you will have experience in all aspects of a cropping program including dryland cropping and flood irrigation. You will need to be confident in operating all types of farm machinery and be mechanically minded. Occasionally you will be involved in livestock duties including shearing, lamb marking, crutching, and the preparation of stock for sales. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to be involved in other aspects of this exciting business as they work as a team to achieve their goals. The business is made up of 4 full-time employees and it was described as a very tight-knit workforce and is looking for a 5th to be part of the team.

The Property & Employer:

Our clients are a dynamic, friendly, family mixed farming operation with a holding covering 3,300ha in the Upper Southeast region of SA. Located approximately 15 minutes from Keith in SA, the enterprise consists of 2,400 Merino ewes and 3,500 1st cross ewes joined for prime lamb and wool production. The property also includes 800 hectares of dryland cropping alongside 500 hectares of flood irrigation for the production of lucerne seed and hay production. Boasting well-maintained, modern machinery, vehicles, equipment, excellent livestock handling facility, and a large modern workshop, this is an opportunity to be involved in a well-regarded business.

The Offer:

There is an attractive remuneration package to be negotiated with the successful candidates based on their experience along with accommodation in Keith and a work Ute. The property is ideally located 15 minutes from Keith which has all services needed and Adelaide only being within 2.5 hrs and idyllic beaches are within 1.5 hours.
