We have an opening for a contract developer to work on automated reports using a BI reporting engine. We are open to suggestions about which one to use, as there are many on the market, after you learn more about what is required.
The reports are for an exam that is delivered at medical schools across the USA. Once we have the final results in a spreadsheet, we want to feed that sheet into a report creation tool which will automatically make all the reports. The calculations are very simple (average score per school, percentile rank, range, etc.) but there are many reports and ways in which they present similar aspects, so it is quite a bit of work. Here are some examples.
For each school, list their students and results- For each school, calculate the average score of their students in each section, compare to national average in each section (both tables and graphics)
- For each school, list all the questions on the exam, with the percent of their students that got it right vs. percent of the national sample
- For each student, a summary of how well they did on each section
- For each student, a list of all the answers they gave and whether they were right/wrong
There are about 8000 students and 300 schools to loop through, producing many pdf reports which we will then upload into a dropbox. The PDFs need to be saved individually; the 300 school reports should not be one concatenated PDF, they should be 300 separate files.
We envision one reporting engine but with each of the reports (approximately 15) as a batch to run. These need to be developed over the next 3-4 months. We have examples of the reports from a previous vendor, so you do not need to worry about design/UX; you just need to automate the creation of the reports and saving as pdfs. This can be on the cloud or locally run.
Target comp: $30-50 per hour. This is a remote position. We anticipate half-time for several months.
